Willa and her family joined our community five years ago, and their impact has been palpable. From Willa and her older sister being extraordinary role models, bake sale enthusiastic bakers, artists and welcoming faces to all new students to parents who volunteered for everything and consistently supported our annual fund, this family will be sorely missed as they head off into the world outside of Bridgeview Montessori. Their impact is significant. Enjoy Willa’s graduation speech.

I will definitely remember this school for a very long time. The unique way of learning made school really fun. The fact that there is a lot of interactive work like checkerboard and racks and tubes helped me remember lots of information. Also, the way that we were allowed to take our time on our materials prevented me from getting stressed because of all my work.

I only came here in 2nd grade so more people had more experience and exposure to the unique way of learning. Most of the kids who went here were already close friends, and I worried that I would not have friends because everyone already had enough, but I came to a very welcoming school environment. The teachers supported my interests, and they were good influences on the students. Calling the teachers by their first name helped form student/teacher bonds and helped me become more relaxed in the classrooms. 

Because we don't have a cafeteria this helped too. It teaches students that you need to check that you have everything you need before leaving for school. The schedule also helps teach good time management and organization too. The way our classes are set up allow for more information go be given in one class or at least that's how it was for me.

A field trip that I will always remember is when we went to the Boston Museum of Science sleepover. I enjoyed that a lot because we got to see so much fun stuff. I also remember that one chaperone had set up a air mattress right under a really bright light and couldn't sleep. Another field trip that I will always remember is when we went on the canal bike ride. I had a hole in my tire and had to ride an a really smalll BMX bike which are supposed to be used for tricks. I still had lots of fun though.

Next year I will be going to a school with most likely 100 students per grade which will be a really big change from here. I think that I will be prepared enough to head into the school with the knowledge I learned from Bridgeview Montessori School.
